The California tote features towns, cities, the state capitol Sacramento, as well as some of the prominent bodies of water, mountains and land in the state. What sets this state illustration apart is that I've included the state's indigenous people and the areas they first inhabited. The original tribes included the Northern Paiute, Gabrieleño, Salinan, Tipai, Mojave, Quechan, Western Shoshone, Nomiaki, Maidu, Yana, Shasta, and the Kawaiisu among many others. Other tribes moved through the area but these are known as the original inhabitants.
